Normally a baby is conceived inside the mother’s body. Sometimes there is a blockage or difficulty, and pregnancy does not happen on its own.
In IVF, that same step is done in a laboratory. The wife’s egg and the husband’s sperm are brought together in the lab. Once an embryo forms, the doctor places it back into the mother’s womb.
If pregnancy follows, it continues like any normal pregnancy. Results differ for every couple, depending on age, health and the underlying cause.
Many people call it test tube baby. It is the same thing.
